(it was bagged out for it's LO-FI quality but there are a few gems on this, I thought this was a great album back in the day)
Notes from the insert:
"The songs of this album were recorded live across Australia in venues ranging from Mt. Druitt to Mt. Gambier, Canberra to Portland, Brisbane to Newcastle, Melbourne to God knows where! Some are studio quality and some are not... The music is real.
They were recorded onto C60 cassettes between 1978 and 1981.
Thanks to Graham for donating hand recorded tapes and big thanks to Al for duty beyond the call of nature."

Michael has completed his trilogy of recordings of
the related Gold Coast bands Ratpack, The Strand
and the Seven Ballerinas
From the late 70's into the early 80s these bands
played around the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
The Seven Ballerinas were the most successful
releasing a single which got a lot iof airplay on
4ZzZ. You can read all about these bands on this
The Strand here
and the Seven Ballerinas here and the single here
Thanks again to Michael for all his work,
he tells me he is planing to record some
Seven Ballerinas stuff in the studio!

Dennis, who is putting together a Brisbane electronic music
project at the moment has sent us this rare gem.
A 7" single from the Atomic Beat Squad released back in
1990 on Sundown records
Let me hand over to Dennis
And thank you Dennis for this fine post!
This is the Hurt 7" released by Atomic Beat Squad (ABS - formerly
Tainted Violets) in 1990 on the Sundown label.
The blurb from the Time Off band guide of 1988 for Tainted Violets reads:
"Synth band with Bauhaus and Ultravox influences. Finalists in this
year's Rock Awards. Come with big wraps."
I seem to remember ABS vying to be signed to a major label at the time.
Brisbane band which included members David McCormack, Maureen Hansen, Nick Naughton and Paul Medew.

I had a request to reup a live Beasts of Bourbon show which I
could sadly no longer find, so I have taken it as a sign that I
should post this wonderful recording.
Its a live to air JJJ recording of only 5 tracks but its nice,
in a sleazy kind of way!
As only Tex can
02. The Low Road
03. Make 'em Cry
04. Just Right
05. Straight, Hard and Long
