I've got some fantastic Australian various artist compilations,
but this is one of the best because of both its size
and excellence of artists involved.
These compilation albums were a great way
for me to discover new bands before the internet
and when radio airplay for alternative stuff was limited
This double album from my vinyl collection contains
some of the best artists in Australia operating in the early to mid 80's.
Also some brilliant tracks from some more obscure artists.
Many that I've covered here already and some I haven't

Wonder if you can help me, Bob (or any other fellow Aussie music lovers!)
I've inherited an old "mix tape" (Sunnyboys one side, Screaming Tribesmen the other), with one extra song of lost heritage. It's a beaut song, and I'm desperate to find out more about it - been trying on and off for about 13 years!
I'm pretty confident it's The Wreckery, and wonder if it is Badland Yard.
The lyrics start off: "I have received message/yeah clearly have I had word..."
And the chorus is: "one hand gives, one hand takes/left hand knock down what the right hand creates/lord giveth thou what the lord thinks you get/oh but honey you don’t know the kinda trouble you’re in"
Can anyone identify?
With crossed fingers, mdg
Sorry mate I havnt got a clue,
anyone else?
Bob/ that track by the Wreckery is on that album...are those the lyrics?
Regards/
I say have to have a listen tonight you might be right mona
Thats it Mona's right,
the tracks is indeed called
"badland yard"
its number 10 on the 2nd cd of
this hot records comp
The Bob and Mona internet song detective agency strikes again! Lol!
Regards/
Another fantastic looking compilation! I'd love to be able to give it a listen, if it could be reuploaded!
