A fabulous evening entertainment last night at the Cave Inn seeing the return to Brisvegas of John Kennedy out of retirement, joined by Murray Cook and John Willsteed along with the Trams in support. The Trams were wonderful, that Brisbane sound low fi and unpretentious, but melodic and engaging. John took us through a respective walk down the 40 something years he has been doing this music business. Songs I rushed out and brought as a teenager through to the songs of parenthood to the songs of older age. Songs of Brisbane, well leaving Brisbane mostly, to songs of his beloved home turf in Sydney. Murray Cook, long term comrade in arms and ex wiggle joined for the entire set and John Willsteed who amongst to many things to mention, was right there in the beginning, playing bass of John Kennedys debut single some 40 years ago, also joined in for a couple of songs. Their cover of the legendary Glen Campbell song Wichita Lineman being a highlight of the evening. As for this blog which has been out of action for a few years, I will be posting photos and gigs and stuff of interest starting back this year and maybe a few things from years of past
